This is an illustration done based on an article on The Onion. The article is about a kid who has been sent to fat camp, but his parents have convinced him it is space camp.
The Onion is a website that writes satirical, and usually hilarious articles.
This illustration is based on the Children's book, Oscar and the Bird. The book is meant to teach children about electricity. The book itself takes a friendly approach (how boring!), so I made the bird's character evil... naturally.
The background is an old photograph taken from Getty Images and used for educational purposes at the Art Institute of Charleston. The buildings and signs have been replaced with other pieces of Photoshop work done during that quarter.
Using the pen tool in Illustrator, I've recreated my face by picking out shapes from the shadows and depths of my soul... er... from a photo of my... face.

The Trippintones are a co-ed a cappella group at the College of Charleston. I wanted this logo to look modern and feel more like a cool band. By the way, you can check the Trippintones out on Facebook. Their website is almost complete, and you may preview it in the web section.
